About Parent Tutor

Parent Tutor lets a parent teach a course at home without knowing the subject. You do not need to remember the mathematics. Each lesson tells you what it is about and what to say, and then walks you and your child through it.

How a lesson works

Every lesson has the same seven steps, so after the first one you both know what to expect.

  1. Parent brief. For you, before you sit down together: the big idea in plain words, why it matters, the words to use, the mistakes children usually make, and what to say when they are stuck. About three minutes.
  2. Refresher. Together, you rebuild what the lesson leans on from first principles, then a short ready check shows whether the foundations are in place.
  3. See it. An interactive picture your child controls, with questions for you to ask while they explore.
  4. Worked examples. You show one, you do one together, your child does one alone.
  5. Practice. Fresh numbers every time, at three levels, with hints and a worked solution for every question.
  6. Mastery check. Ten questions against the clock: nine right, inside the time standard.
  7. Teach-back. Your child explains the idea to you, and you score the explanation with a short rubric.

After a lesson is mastered it comes back for a short review after 1, 3, 7 and 21 days, so it stays learned.

What you see as a parent

A dashboard shows where your child stands in every lesson, which skills need work, the kinds of mistake that keep coming up with a tip for each, and a suggested next session. A level is earned from recorded work, never from time spent.

A home for many courses

Parent Tutor is built to hold many courses, each taught the same way. The courses that are ready today are listed on the front page, with an exact count of the lessons written so far. A course or a lesson that does not exist yet is not shown as coming soon.

What it will not do

  • No advertising, and nothing about your family is sold or shared.
  • Nothing from other companies loads on a page: no trackers, no outside scripts, no chat.
  • Nothing pressures a child: no streak to lose, no ranking, no countdown except the mastery check's own clock.
  • A child has a sign-in only by a parent's invite, and never sees a price.
  • Your data is yours: download a copy of everything at any time, and delete everything at any time.

Questions

The help page answers the common ones: what is free, how a child gets a sign-in, what to do about a forgotten password, and how to delete everything.
